Spaces & equipment
Spaces and equipment are the physical things bookings happen in and with. Slotted tracks them separately from services so one space can serve many services — and so a space can't be double-booked.
Spaces
A space is anything bookable on its own: a studio, a room, a court. Create them at Settings → Spaces with:
- Name and Description — how the space appears to customers.
- Capacity — default 1; used with guest pricing.
- Location — which of your locations the space belongs to.
- Buffer minutes — cleanup time blocked after each booking.
- Minimum booking duration — the shortest booking this space allows (default 30 minutes).
- Sort order — where the space appears in lists.
- Amenities — free text, for example "Natural light, cyc wall, dressing room".
- Photos and an Active checkbox.
A space itself has no customer-facing price — services carry the pricing. The space's capacity and buffers shape what's offered, and the service's price is what customers see.
Equipment
Equipment is an item that augments a booking — lighting kits, backdrops, props, wardrobes. Each item has a name, category (lighting, backdrop, prop, wardrobe, or other), quantity, status (Available / Maintenance), bookable dates, extra time it adds to a booking, and advance-notice hours.
Equipment with a price and customer-selectable status behaves like an add-on at checkout; see Add-ons. Items in maintenance or outside their dates are hidden from customers automatically.
Locations
Locations group your spaces, equipment, and staff. Manage them at Dashboard → Locations:
- New Location adds a location with its name, address, and phone. Use Hide the exact location address before booking for privacy, and public display location (for example "Montrose area, Houston") to show customers the neighborhood instead.
- Each location's page has tabs for its Spaces, Bookings, Staff, and Equipment, plus stat cards for active bookings and assigned services.
- Locations are plan-gated: the Independent plan includes one location; Studio adds unlimited.
Attaching spaces and equipment to services
In each service's Spaces & Resources section, choose Yes, require a bookable resource when the service needs a specific space, then tick the spaces it can run in. Leave it as No resource required when the service happens anywhere.
- Ticking specific spaces means only those spaces are offered for the service. Leave them all unticked and the service can use any space.
- Equipment works the same way — either required or optional per service.
When a space is attached, availability is computed against that space's own bookings, buffers, and capacity, so the same room can serve several services without double-booking.
