Creating services
A service is what your customers book: a studio rental, a session, a class, or a mobile visit. Each service defines how time is handled, what it costs, who performs it, and where it happens.
You create and edit services from Dashboard → Services. The service editor is organized into sections: Details, Booking Flow, Duration & Pricing, Capacity, Staff, Spaces & Resources, Availability Rules, Forms & Agreements, and Advanced Rules.
Step 1: Choose the booking flow
The Booking Flow setting describes how the service is delivered:
- Rental — the customer books a space or resource for a stretch of time.
- Fixed-location service — the service happens at your location.
- Mobile service — you travel to the customer. (This is what makes travel fees available — see Pricing, deposits & fees.)
Step 2: Choose how time is handled
The duration setting determines what the customer sees when they book:
- Fixed duration — one set length for every booking (for example, a 1-hour session).
- Multiple duration options — the customer picks from the durations you define (30 min, 1 hr, 2 hr). Each duration has its own label and price.
- Flexible duration — the customer chooses a start and end time on your calendar. You set a minimum bookable time, an optional maximum bookable time, a time increment the calendar snaps to, and an hourly rate.
Durations are entered as rows with a Label, Minutes, and Price. For a single fixed duration, one row is enough — the default is 60 minutes labeled "1 Hour". With multiple options, each row appears as a card on your booking page under "How long do you need?", with its price shown beneath it.
The increment controls how granular the customer's start and end times can be. A 30-minute increment means every selection snaps to :00 or :30. Smaller increments give customers more freedom but produce less predictable calendars.
Step 3: Fill in the details
- Service image — JPG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC, up to 15 MB. This shows on your public booking page.
- Name and Description — how the service appears to customers.
- Public tag — an optional short label (up to 20 characters, for example "Christmas") shown on the public booking page. Useful for seasonal or limited-time offerings.
Step 4: Set capacity and group pricing
The Capacity section controls guest-based pricing. Choose the model that fits:
- No guest-based pricing — same price regardless of group size.
- Tiered pricing — different rates depending on group size. You define ranges with a price each, for example 1–2 people at one rate, 3–4 at another.
- Base + overage — a flat rate up to a number of guests, then a charge per additional person ("Each additional guest +$X").
You can also set minimum and maximum group sizes. Full details are in Pricing, deposits & fees.
Step 5: Configure staff and spaces
- Staff — choose No staff required, Staff optional, or Staff required, and whether customers may request a specific staff member. See Staff for how staffing modes work.
- Spaces & Resources — choose Yes, require a bookable resource if this service needs a specific space or piece of equipment. See Spaces & equipment.
If a choice changes what the booking is, make it a separate service. If it is an optional extra on top of a booking, make it an add-on.
Step 6: Set the rest
- Availability Rules — constraints like how far in advance customers can book.
- Forms & Agreements — intake questions and documents customers must complete.
- Advanced Rules — booking rules specific to this service.
When you're done, choose Create service (or Save service when editing).
After you create a service
- A service is Active by default, which means it appears on your booking page immediately.
- Use the Active/Inactive toggle to pause it without deleting anything. Inactive services disappear from the booking page but keep their history.
- Duplicate service copies the service so you can reuse its setup as a starting point.
- Archive service removes it from the booking page for good. Existing bookings, reports, and payment history remain unchanged.
