Booking readiness
Slotted is designed to catch operational problems before customers do. Readiness works on two levels: whether your business is set up to take bookings at all, and whether each individual booking is safe to execute.
Is your business ready for bookings?
Slotted checks five things and shows progress on your dashboard home:
- Create your first service — at least one active service customers can choose.
- Set up fulfillment — the space or eligible staff a service requires is assigned.
- Configure availability — business hours are set and a service's availability rules resolve.
- Set up payments — direct payments (cash, Zelle, Cash App, and more) are enabled, or Stripe is connected for cards.
- Make your booking page live — your workspace is available on its public booking link.
The Booking readiness widget on the dashboard shows "Ready for bookings", or "Almost ready" with the number of steps left. From it you can make a test booking, view your booking page, or copy your booking link to share.
Until all five are done, the relevant tasks stay visible so you can fix them in minutes. The check runs against your live setup, so fixing the underlying setting clears the task on the next look.
Is an individual booking ready to run?
For each booking, Slotted decides whether it is operationally ready — that is, whether you can safely show up and run it. Three conditions must hold:
- Staff is satisfied. Services with no staff requirement are always satisfied. Services that require staff need the required number assigned.
- Space is satisfied. If the service requires a space, the booking must have one.
- Payment is satisfied. The booking isn't waiting on payment.
A booking that doesn't meet these shows as Staffing needed (or keeps its payment state) instead of Operationally ready.
A service can be set to required staff, soft enforcement: the customer can book even when no staff member is available, and the booking lands in Staffing needed instead of being blocked. You assign staff later. A booking in this state is allowed — but it is not operationally ready until someone is assigned.
Booking health
Every booking also carries a health status: OK, Warning, or Critical. Health problems show as a colored dot next to the booking's status in the bookings list and calendar — for example, when a booking's service capacity has disappeared, or a deferred-assignment booking is unclaimed and close to losing its slot.
Treat a Critical booking as a to-do item: open the drawer, see what's flagged, and fix the staffing, space, or payment issue before the appointment.
